Truth Worth Living S2E26

Episode Summary

📖 Exploring Hebrews - Drawing Near to God 🙏 Welcome back to Truth Worth Living, where we dive into God's word to illuminate the path to His will. In our ongoing study of the book of Hebrews, we've seen the writer beautifully argue the supremacy of Christianity over Judaism due to Christ's redemptive work. In Chapter 10, he makes this personal - reminding us that everything Christ did, He did for us. Not just for a better life here and in the hereafter, but for us to draw near to God. *Hebrews 10:19-22 (NIV)* "19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water." Through Christ's sacrifice, we now have confidence to personally enter the very throne of grace. We no longer need a mediator; we can boldly approach God ourselves. The path to God is described as a "new and living way," which is Jesus Himself. In verse 22, we learn how to draw near to God: 1. *With a sincere heart:* This sincerity isn't something we generate ourselves; it's a byproduct of God's transformative work in our lives. 2. *In full assurance that comes from faith:* Our faith assures us of purification from unrighteousness inside and out. Our hearts, once bound by sin, are made sincere by God's grace. He places His laws within us, directing our motivations and desires. Delighting in the Lord leads to our desires aligning with His, enabling us to confidently draw near to Him. So, as we reflect on this message, remember that sincerity of heart is a gift from God, a result of His transformative work in us. Delight in Him, and He will lead your heart's desires, allowing you to draw near to Him with confidence and authenticity. God's truth in Christ is indeed Truth Worth Living. 🙌 #DrawNearToGod #TruthWorthLiving #Hebrews
